Me and my husband have planned to bring our 2 sweetie kids for a short trip (2D1N) to Batam.
I've long heard about this beautiful resort villa in Batam, called Montigo. So I have planned in advance (2 to 3 months back) for the stay to see if there is any early bird promotion.

True enough, I found a Steamboat (dinner) promotion at good price and grabbed it. (I heard you can also get some promotion in groupon some times.)
Finally the day of the trip has arrived!!
It's the first Sunday of the start of the school holidays. At 8 am, all stuffs are packed, we start to make our way to Tanah Merah ferry terminal.

Montigo is situated on the northen peninsula of Batam island.
We need to take a ferry from Tanah Merah ferry terminal to Nongsa Pura ferry terminal in Batam.
I booked the ferry from Batam fast..one of the 2 companies operating at Tanah Merah. This is the cheaper among the 2 companies, and we need to book early as the tickets will run out esp. during the school holidays. $46 adult, $43 child for round trips.
It takes about 30 minutes to ride from Tanah Merah to Batam.

We alighted from the ferry.
At the terminal..the excited and curious kids already looking forward and wondering around.
That's our van. Arrangement had been made in advance with Montigo, hence the van is here for us.
It takes about 10 mins or less to get from the terminal to Montigo.

As we are too early for check-in, the plan was to go shopping at the biggest shopping mall in Batam, called Nagoya Hill. There's supposed to be a transport from Montigo to Nagoya, but we were told that is already fully booked as we did not book in advance.
We have no choice but to ask the concierge to help book us a cab to get to the mall.
It takes about 1 hour or more to travel from Montigo to Nagoya Hill, depending on traffic condition.
Montigo is built near the rural area. Check the nearby scenary around.
The area looks more developed when nearer to Nagoya Hill,
where it is supposed to be the main town of Batam.

After getting souvenirs, had lunch, shopping..its time to head back to Montigo for check-in.
