Hong Kong 6D5N - 22~27Nov (Day 1&2)

Day 1
We took the morning, 8.25am, SQ860, BoeingA380, the double deck flight to Hong Kong.
There were several firsts for this trip, first time to take A380 double deck flight, first trip with Reb, Val & Mal. However, it was not the first trip to Hong Kong for either of us. :p
Reb claimed Hong Kong as her second home.. she is so familiar with the place, that she offered to be our guide for the trip.. hence, making is a stress free trip for Val, Mal & me. :p All we had to do was book our own flights and hotel room.. it was really nice of Reb, so I decided to give her a treat at Hello Kitty restaurant for dinner.

4 hours later, the plane touched down.
First thing to do was to have lunch at the airport before taking bus to our hotel. Lunch was shao la fan.

 

After lunch, we got tickets from BO1 counter for Airport Shuttle Service.
It took about 45 mins to get to our hotel, Novotel Nathan hotel in Jordan.
It started to rain shortly upon arrival. After checking in, we took a short rest and then headed for Australia Dairy Company for tea break. There was no queue.. we got a seat right away.

There were many shops around the area, but as the rain had got heavy, we didn't want walk in the outdoors for long. So we headed to Hello Kitty restaurant next. Our plan was to have dinner there, but they were not open for dinner until 6pm. However, the staff were kind enough to let us take a rest in their restaurant.

Day 2
Good morning.. that's the view from our hotel window. The buildings here looked like they need cleaning and a coat of paint.

The plan for day 2 was to spend in Hong Kong island.

After breakfast, the first stop was Tin Hau temple. The weather was fine in the morning, but it started to rain when we arrived at Tin Hau station.

 

 

Later in the afternoon, we made our way to Causeway Bay Sogo and it was still raining.

For lunch, we had this yummy noodles soup at Nam Gei.

Head back to hotel to take a rest. And took tea at nearby Cha Chan Ting.

At night, we had an unusual but interesting activity, visit the race course, Happy Valley racecourse!! We tried Uber app and it works, and a BMW came to pick us...

We bought tickets for ourselves, and the ticket includes entrance fee and dinner.
So we can enjoy dinner while gambling and watch the race. Mal seems to know how to place bets for the races, so his task was to analyse and place bets, while we gals only need to come out with the $ and sit back and enjoy.

Dinner's being served.. I chose claypot rice.. taste is not bad.

At night, uber is too high demand. So we walk to nearest train station, Causeway Bay, to take train back to hotel.
