South Korea 28Dec23~7Jan24
Ahn-nyung!
Thought it was too soon to pack and leave, but we have to move sooner or later anyway.
So we chose to head for Busan on the 2nd day to avoid the crowd that might be in Seoul on 1 Jan.
So we checked-out & left our large luggage at the hotel, bringing along only a day luggage.
It was a short train ride from Myeongdong to Seoul station (2 stops).
From Seoul station, we were going to take the 857am KTX to Busan.
Arrived early so that we can pack breakfast to eat on the train
Showing off how cold the weather, while waiting for the platform to be announced.
Everyone heading to the platform as soon as it was announced
Bought the 2 days Saver flexible pass from klook since the exchange rate was quite good & we would have paid off by taking 2 trips. We could also reserve seats online one month in advance.
Train arriving
The kids were seated together, and me on my own.
The journey will take 2hrs 18mins, which is one of the shortest train ride to Busan.
Arrived in Busan around 1120am.
Heading to Line 1 to take the subway to Jagalchi station for our next hotel.
Slight diversion to the "Busan is good" sign.
Go down there for the subway
3 stops from Busan to Jalgachi.
As Jalgachi is the market area, we realised many old people alighted at the stop. 😂
Walk 3 mins to the hotel.
We arrived earlier than check-in time, but as our room was already ready,
we were allowed to check-in early😁
The guy at the concierge was extremely helpful by giving many tips on where to go and what to eat in the area. He score 10 out of 10. 👍
Nampo Ocean 2 Heaven Hotel & Spa - We really love this hotel, it's so neat and clean, and very lovely. There was a pretty sweet snowy X'mas tree too😍
Charis has told me that taxi fares are not expensive in the area, so we decided to ask the concierge to help us call for a cab to our next destination.
There we were - Gamcheon Culture Village
This Village is a must-visit when one visits to Busan, so it was on the top of my list to visit.
Have some snacks first before searching for our lunch place.
Go up Haneul Maru observatory to get a good view of the area
Ops Jungkook & Jimin did not seemed popular here.
This is the forever popular icon in the village.
Although it was cold, the afternoon sun was shining brightly down on us.
And we heard the gal in front of us told her friend that the queue has not moved much for the 20 minutes that she had waited.🤯
So I told the gals I will try to take a photo while walking pass, when the people are changing places.
And I did it!
Although we like this little prince icon,
we really don't see it worth it to queue so long under the hot sun!
The Plate
We found this nice place we wanted to have lunch, with a nice view.
The food tastes good too 😋
Walked passed again... and the queue was still long
Grabbed a taxi again.. we can buy time ya.
Our next destination - Songdo cable car
Bought the tickets from klook. Just redeem at the counter at level 1 for the actual tickets.
And board the cable at level 4
We took the cable car with others as it was too crowded.
Arrived at the other end, Songdo Air cruise
Go up the roof top for little prince
This is my favourite little prince
On our returning trip, we had the cable car all to ourselves.
Beautiful sun setting
Cab to our next destination again.
Going to catch the remaining of the sunset at Huinnyeoul Culture Village
The kids wanted to take photos again. Almost thought time will be wasted until I saw this window.
The sunset was amazing.
We had to rush a little before the sun really set, to the coastal tunnel, which was my target for this place.
We had to climb down a long flight of stairs to get down here
- Jeoryeong Coastal Walk
Finally arrived!
Piano Stairs
Climbing back up
Look at that purple sky
We thought we missed it, but managed to find the blue steps I came for!
Wanted to take the bus but will need to walk a little to our target eating place.
The kids wanted to take taxi, but there wasn't any coming in our direction.
Finally we flagged down a taxi from the opposite direction and took some time for the driver to figure out the place we want to go
Recommended by our hotel concerige - Dolgorae Sundubu 豆腐
It's in a small street of Nampo-dong, we have to go up to level 2 of the shophouse for this.
Most shops already closed in the area, but Dolgorae opens till 10pm.
There is no english menu.
As we were ushered to sit, the auntie just ask us in her simple english "soft tofu?"
And we replied 3, so we got this set each for 3 of us.
The food is very good 👍
And the ahjussi in the shop told me I'm yeppeunda 🤣
Thumbs up from the baby
There's no transport in this area, walking distance away from our hotel.
It was also easy to walk in this cold weather, just that the streets already lights-off
Walking pass BIFF (Busan-International-Film-Festival) street now.
The street is near our hotel
The must-try here is Hotteok
Its sweet and nutty
Hotel Button?
Market still brightly lighted
Bought breakfast for next day, from CU nearby
