First Malaysia hike of 2025.
Alice, whom Noi & I get to know during hiking at Mawar (and rail corridor), invited me to join this hike.
We initially wanted to go to G.Payung, but was cancelled due to not enough pax.
We decided to go to G.Datuk instead.
G.Datuk is an intermediate level trail, with very steep slopes all the way.
Noi decided not to go, I'll be going with Alice, and she brought her friend, Joyce.
The group met and left by 945pm from YCK mrt.
Traffic became heavy as we were nearing Woodlands customs around 10pm,
as it was the start of Singapore one week school holiday.
1040pm arrival at Singapore customs
There we were, in the big bus.
We arrived at 4am, and were about to walk in to the main entrance when the guide's vehicle drove past and he offered to pick us.
Warmed up and ready!
440am we started the hike
About 1hr into the hike, we had passed the most steep part after reaching CP1,
but it would still be steep all the way up.
650am .. already 2hrs
It was a 200m more from here.. I wanna make it for the sunrise but panting very hard and needed to slow down.
Finally arrived at the rocks at 7am.
The guide had told us the sunrise was forecasted at 710am.. so I hurried to climb up the rocks.
Cloudy as the sun was rising
The guys who reached when it was dark
Next higher level
Time for our break
8am, we started to head downhill.
We begin to see clearly how steep the slopes are!
