Day 1: 普陀村 & Rainforest Treehouse
Thank you Sam and Jean for organising this 3D2N stay in a treehouse.
We decided to visit Kulai after CNY 2023, and booked the trip from 10-12 February 2023.
FB of the Rainforest Treehouse:
Sam drives a 7 seater car and the couple has asked 4 of us along on the trip.
The fees for 2 nights stay for 6 pax in a house was about S$67/pax.
Pick up started from 6am from our 3 locations in the northeast and the
traffic was quite smooth at the Woodlands customs as it was early.
Our first stop was a coffeeshop in Skudai, Johor for breakfast.
We wanted to eat light but ordered so much for 6 pax 😂
Sunny along the way
As we cannot check-in at the treehouse until 2pm, we headed to visit a popular
tourist attraction in Kulai.
Arriving at 普陀村。
Many bamboo trees spotted... Like Arashiyama in Japan?
Entrance fee - RM10 for foreigners
Lovely place with many instagramable spots 😍
Keng loves swings
This is interesting
Our Mr Sam added music to this 🤣
We continued our walk along the steps.
And later realised that we had started our walk backwards from the 119th step -> 1st step
Wondering whether it's a peacock or a turkey?
Found the answer on Google: it's a peahen
On the way to our lunch place around noon
Drove to Soon Kee for the bitter gourd soup

After a short briefing, we were sent up to our unit, which is H7, Sunset
Climbing up to our house is not an easy task.
The Fat Bamboo Cafe
😋
On the way and getting near as we see palm tree fields
Arriving at Rainforest Treehouse, at the base of Gunong Pulai, Kulai
Head to the cafe for check-in and a drink
Here it is, the cafe
Exploring while waiting for our order
We ordered the Signature coffee (that has Jackfruit flavour because the coffee was planted close to jackfruit trees), Mushroom soup with garlic butter toast, Carrot cake, Wood fired bread with signature dips, and more Cakes
Rules and regulations
Climbing up to our house is not an easy task.
We heard it is about 300 steps, which is equivalent to 15 levels or more of our HDB flat.
Finally decided to move by 5pm to visit the toilet and then get down to the nearby waterfall

The kitchen
Dinning area
To our disappointment, we arrived at the waterfall around 5pm and that was also the closing time 😢
The mountains in the background
Might as well just rest at the dining area until dinner's served
Cute guests arrived in search for food
The gals fell asleep while waiting 🤣
Finally dinner's being served.
Wasp nest? Let's walk carefully here
A new place coming up
Level 1:
The 1st level is like the living room where we were told to keep our bags in the
wooden box to prevent monkeys from stealing our things.
After climbing to the top, everyone was perspiring like mad,
and we vowed never to climb those steps again 😂
Level 2
Level 3
Having fun climbing up and down
After lying down and rest, we were lazy to move after that
The fat kitty must have eaten a lot and fell asleep
That's where they bake the weekly bread for the cafe and our breakfast
Around the dining area
All kinds of inserts, animals can be found here, including mosquitoes
We requested for early dinner at 6pm so that we can go back to our house in time to catch sunset.
Rushing back to the house after dinner.
Great that we managed to catch the sunset
Preparing for the night
We tried to sleep early as it was dark and nothing much to do.
Turning on the lights will only attract inserts.
Around 8pm, it rained suddenly and for about an hour.
By 9pm, the rain had stopped and we were still awake.
Keng looked out from her level and was so excited about seeing stars that she shouted so loud
everyone got up to look at the stars🌠
