22Apr~6May2023 Around Kyushu in 2 weeks - day 11
Rise and shine, beautiful from our hotel
Breakfast was provided at the hotel.
There was a long queue as there was a international sport event at the nearby Dome,
where the group were given priority to have their breakfast.
I was a little anxious as we bought the tickets for Kawachi to enter only at
a fix entrance time of 8:00〜10:00.
Kawachi Wisteria Garden
If there is a peak, they will collect extra at the entrance.
Judging on the wilted wisteria we saw the day before, we know the chance of collecting extra is low.
We arrived 20mins past 8am because of the unforeseen delay at breakfast.
This seems to be a difference species of wisteria, which are still growing well at the entrance.
Turn right upon entry and we see the beautiful wisteria tunnel.
Still beautiful even though the flowers were wilting.
The good thing was it wasn't very crowded because we have passed the peak.
Everyone ready, looking at their best
Thank god the flowers were still beautiful!! 😁
It took us forever to walk out of the wisteria tunnel.. 😘😂
This forest is not for entry and will only be opened in autumn.
While they were busy taking photos of each other, I was busy chasing after bees.
We have made a round and back to the tunnel
Happy cos the place is so beautiful and sad to be leaving so soon.
Red bridge on the way to Nanzoin, in Fukuoka
Nanzoin -where the World's largest bronze buddha lay
SK 123
Found the buddha beads while searching for the toilet
View from Nanzoin
Souvenirs at Nanzoin
Lunch at Tamaya, which is within the Nanzoin compounds
The curry udon is very appetising and good.
While the red bean mochi soup tasted quite diluted
As the parking fee in Fukuoka city is much higher than the other parts of Kyushu,
and public transport is convenient, I decided we can do without the car for the next 2 days.
Our final stop before returning the car in Fukuoka by 7pm - Sakurai Shrine Futamigaura Torii
As we arrived the area, we realised it was really crowded as there was an event going out.
And we could not find a parking as all the car parks were full.
The only car park available was at the nearby restaurant where we were required to consume their food and can park for free.
Restaurant Futamigaura
Nobody wants to go onto the beach as we did not want sand in the car, as we were returning it.
We couldn't let go of it easily as it took us an effort to get here.
Last chance on a train track
Passing by the Hakata Port tower, which we did not visit on day 1
Returning the car
The toll fee incurred
Shopping time at Hakata, 博多
It was very crowded at the Hakata underground.
We were lucky to have found a place for dinner without waiting for long.
Passing by only
