Arrival in Surabaya, Probolinggo

Eldest sis organised the trip and 4 of us supposed to go together.

However, only 3 of us made it on this Saturday morning.

We hope she will be able to go next year this time.

Also thank you Sam for waking early to send us.

Going for tea since we had some time after checking-in.

Did not expect to meet YJ in the transit area 😛

Since there was a little more time to spare, suggested to visit the sunflower garden

Almost time to board the plane

Flight time was 750am, we could board an hour before.

Light meal for short flight

Arrival in Surabaya, Java.

 

Juanda International - for a moment as we arrived, we thought we needed to get out of the plane by airstairs.

Nopi, our driver cum guide for the next 4 days, was there to pick us.

He asked for "Ho Yen", but she's not here. 😂

That's the car we will take for the 4 days.

From Surabaya airport, we will drive 3-5 hours to a small town called Probolinggo,

where mount Bromo is located.

Passing by Sidoarjo, and we could visit a hot flood mud of Sidoarjo

After reading the story, wonder how this place can be classified as a tourist attraction.

We will see many, many mosques since Indonesia is a Muslim country

And many mountains.

Getting closer to Probolinggo

Time for lunch.

As we wanted to try the local food, Nopi brought us to try the local bakso.

The food was sedap 😜

There's no more travelling for the rest of the day.

We will be resting and need to wake up at 1am for our climb.

We arrived at Hotel Bromo Park, which is about 1 hour drive away from base of Bromo.

As this is the peak season, it was difficult to secure a nearer hotel to Bromo,

hence, we gotto wake earlier at 1am instead of 3am to get to Bromo.

After a quick nap, we went out at 5pm to have our dinner.

Nothing much to buy except for snacks in a supermarket

Bought bread for next morning in case hungry

Also had yoghurt drink.

And we found our dinner place

Ordered and wait for food to be served.

Everyone ordered a dish and a drink and the total was

only Rp113,000 (Equivalent to S$11.30) 👀

We came across an interesting shop, which sells many things in their showcase,

ranging from handicrafts to daily necessities to stationery & toys.

It's practically like a mini shopping mall in a shop.

By 8pm, we were all ready for bed.
