Lembing Rainbow waterfall

1-3Nov Pahang (Lembing)

Joining WLC on an adventure trip to Kuantan (district), Pahang (state),
very near to the east coast of West Malaysia, to a small, sleepy town called Sungai Lembing.
We heard later on that only about 400 people resides in the town.

On this trip, not much hiking is involved.
On Saturday morning, we will take a 4WD to a river,
cross the river, and then take a 45 mins hike to Rainbow waterfall.
On Sunday morning, we will climb a long flight of stairs up to Bukit Panorama, 291 m tall.

Itinerary by WLC

By Friday 8.30 pm, we were off in a full bus load and headed to Woodlands customs.
It was a very smooth journey and we reached the customs in no time, around 9 pm.

Pagoh Selantan rest stop

It started to rain after the first rest stop, all the way until the morning😭

Arrival at Lembing town around 4.40 am.

We rested in the bus until around 5.30 am, and then headed out for washup and early breakfast.

By 6.30 am, we had gathered back at the bus waiting area.
The rain started to get heavy as we waited for the 4WD to bring us to Rainbow waterfall.
By 7 am, the tour people decided to push ahead after checking that it was not raining at the waterfall area.

Making new friends.

After an hour & 20 mins ride, we arrived at the trail head to the waterfall.
The 4WD ride seemed exciting, a pity I could not sit with them because I might get motion-sick.

Pay 0.50 RM for usage of washroom

From here, it would take 45 mins to hike to the waterfall

First, we had to cross the river

It wasn't easy to walk as there were many rocks

A little upslope as we were getting near

Wow, we felt as if we had arrived in heaven

The waterfall is really beautiful.. we do not feel it a waste even though we did not see the rainbow.

The people used the water from the waterfall to prepare coffee and cup noodles for us.

We climbed higher hoping to be able to see the rainbow.
The sun was out for a while... but very soon covered by clouds

Usually by 10.30 am, if there is no rainbow, we won't see it anymore after that.
So it was time to leave ... 😔

The driver wanted us to see the wild elephant's poo

Back in town for lunch before heading to our resort

We wanted to eat noodles and we found this shop.

The noodles were really good!! 😋😋

Dessert time!

Heading to our resort..

Arriving at Lembing Fanny Riverside resort

We were out around 4 pm for a walk before dinner around Lembing town.

Spotted a rainbow bridge.. we'll be back for it later

The must-try 山水豆花

After eating, we can shop a bit for local snacks..Coconut biscuits are supposed to be famous here.

BBQ dinner at 6.30 pm

Pretty delicious homecooked food

The rainbow at the waterfall that we didn't see..
