A very sunny Saturday morning, meeting SK to visit the Bird Paradise.
The attraction has moved from Jurong to its new location in Mandai since May 2023.
However, with the entrance tickets priced at $50, we, locals found it too expensive.
Fortunately, I heard from a friend there is a credit card promotion at 50% off the tickets...
There is a shuttle from Khatib mrt exit A.
For a fee of $2.50, one can take the bus not only to Bird Paradise,
but also to the other attractions in Mandai.
It was written on the website that the shuttle service will start from 8.30 am,
arriving at every 15/20 mins interval.
I arrived around 8.15 am and found the queue to be unexpectedly long.. wow!
We were rejected at the doors of the first bus, but were surprised a next bus had followed almost immediately.
We arrived just before 9 am.
One of the reasons why we were here.. we also realised then that this waterfall is not located within the bird paradise premises, but near the bus stop where we just arrived at.
The other reason why we came..Snoopy is celebrating their 50th anniversary from 2 Nov 2024 to 5 Jan 2025 at the Zoo and Bird paradise.
Pretty laksa flower in different colour tones
We stopped by an interesting playground..
Arriving at the entrance after a distracting, but short walk..
Scanning our QR codes to enter
Welcomed by the first waterfall
We avoided the penguins first as we wanted to visit the cool place last.
Heading to Heart of Africa first
Upon entering the first enclosure, we were already impressed by the collection of birds,
that were allowed to fly around freely.
Then we understand the need for the double doors, followed by a heavy curtain..
If interested, there is an area to pay and feed the birds
A shoebill that is not moving looks like a statue on top of that roof 😅
Heart of Africa sure has an interesting and colourful collection of birds.
