As WLC did not organise this hike, we followed a group through Alice to hike with guide Eric.
Little did I know that it was a little nightmare hike for me.
Actually a very strong group of people except for me
The first slope up (in the middle - the thorax of the butterfly), they say it is beginning slope.
It wasn't that bad up till the next point
Then it was steep, very steep up, still at the thorax
I managed to catch up with the strong people all the way to the big tree as it was mostly down slope.
But those people were really dam fast.
Then it was the killer steep slopes that almost killed me..
pant all the way up and out of energy for every step!
I took a 5mins break before heading up that final slope
I didn't have the appetite as still out of breathe
When I wanted to eat, they say its time to go. 😓
Alice, who went for the second peak only
Joyce and me, she accompanied me, we did not do the second peak after the first, started to head down.
The way down was too steep and rocky and rooty for me to stop and take any photos.
The organiser gave me this for the final leg of my climb up onto the thorax peak,
it really gave me an instant boast at that time! Thanks a lot!
At home that night
This climb had the most elevation gain I have experienced so far.
