[沖縄11~17Oct'19] Day 2 Yomitan; Onna; Nago

We bought breakfast the night before from Ryubo as we need to check out early by 730am.
We have to make our way to Miebashi which is two train stops away, utilising the Yui rail pass which can be used within 24hours. Since the rental car is spacious enough for us, we brought along our luggage to Orix Miebashi, to pick up the rental car by 830am.

Car rental was done on tabirai: http://en.tabirai.net/car/service/noc-option/
Honda Freed is a compact 7-seater hybrid car, ~S$80 per day including insurance. It was a very good deal and plus the car is spacious enough for 4 of us to put 4 luggage and our shopping bags as well.

Setting off
There is only one highway (E58) in Okinawa, and we intend to try to avoid it as much as we can as we planned to drive along the sea coast so that we can stop the car wherever we want. So most of our travel is by Route 58, which is along the left sea coast of the main Okinawa island and can bring us to all our destinations.

The travel speed allowable on Route 58 and most small roads in Okinawa is only 50km/hour.

1st stop - Zanpa lighthouse in Yomitan, about 1-hr drive from the Orix Rental.

Next, going for a quick bite as our plan was to go for Marine walk & Blue ocean snorkeling.
Found the nearest cafe in Onna with a good review - Doka Doka.
Opens at 11am, with a good sea view, sells and teaches pottery.

The pizza's really delicious!! And we really love the place!

We were supposed to go to Blue Ocean for our sea activity. But as everyone may know, 12 October 2019 was the day that Typhoon 19 was supposed to pass by Okinawa, hence, all sea activities along the sea coast had been cancelled.
Our backup plan was to go to Busena Marine Park. We went there too, but as the wave was too strong, so we could not take the glass boat. :(

Busena Marine Park

As we have lots of time to spare, we stopped by the seaside to enjoy the view since we were already dressed in swimwear.

Okashigoten Onna for tea and souvenirs. And we bought a lot!!

There is a cafe on the 2nd level, where we managed to try freshly baked Benimo (traditional sweet potato tart from Okinawa).

A daring soul surfing on 12th October 2019.

Cape Manzamo - it was very windy and it was early when we arrived. We could not catch the sunset we wanted to come here for.

Stopped by Lawson as we saw the sun was setting and managed to catch a beautiful one.

Check-in at Yugaf Inn hotel in Nago (Not the Bise branch)
As our next hotel is quite expensive per night, we decided to stay at Yugaf for a night. For ~S$60 per pax per night, it includes breakfast and parking is also free. We booked a executive room that has a queen bed and 2 single beds, and it was a very spacious room. Overall a very good experience.

Dinner at Ufuya 大家 - a 300 year old restaurant
Reservation was made online for 730pm. See how dark the road was, without any street lamps, and as Ufuya is located up in the mountains, driving speed up can only be 30km/hour.

As we parked our car at the hill top, we need to take a buggy down to the restaurant.

Its a auto-drive buggy.

Exploring the 300 years old vicinity.

Must try the Orion beer!
