[沖縄11~17Oct'19] Day 1 Naha

Our favourite "driver" cum Jean's husband was there to send us again, so he joined in our supper.. together with Jean's son.

Super thanks to Sam who always supports us strongly on our trips with his wife.

Ohayo gozaimasu! We touched down Naha airport 8 plus in the morning.

Hungry after touch down.. snacks from family mart.

First, head to the Domestic Airport 1F JTB counter (open from 9am) to collect our mini Churaumi 5-day pass (1+4 venue) bought from klook (S$43.20). We happened to want to visit the 5 spots which are included in the pass: Aquarium (1,850yen), Neo park (660yen), Kouri Ocean tower (800yen), Dai Seikirinzan (1,200yen) and Okinawa World (1,240yen). The initial total entrance fees added up to 5,750yen, which equates to ~S$72.80, making it super worth for us to purchase the minipass.

The train station is near the domestic airport.

1-Day pass (valid 24-hr) from monorail ticket machine for the Yui rail. The Yui rail is the only train line in Okinawa, which only covers from the airport to Naha area. We are going to make use of it for 1 day - while staying in Naha until the next morning. Then get our rental car for travel out of Naha from the 2nd day.

Such nice view from Asato station. We've arrived at our stop. And that's Sakaemachi Ryubo - a 24-hour supermarket that's just across the station.

Hotel Azat, just beside the train station. We booked 2 semi double room without breakfast.

After check-in, we are out again.

On the way to Shuri castle 首里城 - its a long 15-min walk under the hot sun. In fact, there is a bus to bring us nearer to the castle, but we gave it a miss as we wanted to walk around to take a look.

Cut through the Shuri castle park for a shorter walk to the castle.

Shuri Soba - its 5 mins walk from the castle, or 5 mins walk from Shuri station.

Irashiyaimase - this is the traditional animal of Okinawa, the Shisa (a chinese lion).

Jack's steak house is 5 min walk from Makishi station. We were there around early 5pm and it was almost packed with people.

 Mario cart was here too.

Another round of ice cream as we did not eat Blue Seal in the afternoon.

We wanted to have snacks at Calbee too.. but we arrived too late and closing by the time we arrived.
