24Jun-1Jul JP w myGal - Day tour: Amanohashidate, Miyama

Finally, we were going on a day tour, bought the tickets through klook as usual.
We were going to visit Amanohashidate, 天橋立 and Kayabuki no Sato
かやぶきの里・北村, a village in Miyama, 美山

Meet up was @ Kyoto VIP lounge @ 840am to board the bus.

We arrive just in time at meeting point. Bought breakfast to eat on the bus.

We arrived after one and half hours' drive at Chionji Temple, 智恩寺,
near to the sand bars of Amanohashidate, 天橋立

Our guide from China, speaks very good Japanese

The temple is beautiful but our time here will only be 30mins.
According to the guide, the most beautiful part is to take the cable car and view the
Amanohashistdate area from the top. And so, that is what we were going to do.

We only had 10mins or so left so it's better not to cross the bridge to the beach.

Taking the 1050am sightseeing boat

On board the boat, we were asked to head up to the top level to feed seagulls

Buy the crackers for 100 yen to feed the birds

We were heading there

The birds were just everywhere

Arriving

We headed straight for the cable car station.

Passing by Motoise Kono Jinja, 元伊勢籠神社

That's our blue bus in the background

We'll come back to the shrine later, proceed to the cable car first.

Two choices were available, the cable car or chair lift.
We chose the chair lift as it seemed more interesting.

The mascot, Kasabou for the area

After heading up, we kept the other half of the ticket to get down.

The fun starting...

The view behind us while heading up

It was an interesting open chair ride

We arrived at the Amanohashidate Kasamatsu Park

There's also a place for lovers

And lover's locks

The guide kindly help us take these photos

Gotto view the place upside down when you visit ya

Here's the view supposed to be from upside down.. they say it looks like an island amongst the clouds

It was actually drizzling the whole time,
making the skies not as bright as it should look during a summer day.

Heading down next

Saw the post box.. we were gonna mail a postcard home later.

Going for lunch next.

Kani!! 😜

Yummy pork to be dipped in raw egg 😋

More crabs found in the soup

We ate as quickly as possible so that we can buy a postcard and souvenirs downstairs.

As we can see, it had also started raining.

What's popular here was suppose to be soft black beans

On the way to our next destination. Really looking forward!!

As it was raining, the surrounding mountains started to get foggy, making it so beautiful!

Arrived at the car park of Kayabuki no Sato. The rain had also stopped.

An eagle was circling the sky above us

We intend to come back for omiyage later

Here we are, the village of Kayabuki no sato
There were initially 50 houses but the houses really need high maintenance, it takes 100,000 yen to repair the roof of the house. So, currently, only 39 houses were eft and 32 are residential.
The roof of the houses works better than that of Shirakawago as it can shelter against snow and rain, while the roof of Shirakawago can only shelter snow. As the roofs catch fire easily, the residents in Miyama started a water spray over the roofs from time to time to prevent fire.

Lovely view with the red mail box

Guide explaining which areas to go to.
We had only 40mins to complete the tour around and get omiyage.
The milk, egg pudding and ice cream is supposed to be good.

Hydrangeas were beautiful too

Also many flowers in the bloom.

Simply love those traditional houses

Found this beautiful flower ball in the field patch in front of a house😍

Time to shop.. but our time was short..
However, we bought so much in a short time

And the gal ate everything on the bus.. she must be so hungry 😂

The last event to end the night.. with happy night!!
