We booked a 1-Day tour to Mount Fuji & Hakone.
We set off from Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal. This 1-day tour brought us to Mount Fuji Visitor centre & 5th station and then to Hakone, where we went for a boat ride and boarded a ropeway. If lucky, we were supposed to catch a view of Mount Fuji in the ropeway while going up. At the end of the tour, the bus dropped us at Hakoneyumoto station, where we made our way to the hotel to rest for the night.
Setting off..

View along the way, in bus. Its getting very hilly as we get near to Mount Fuji.

Look at leaves already turning into colours of Autumn.. It's so beautiful!

@Tori gate of Komitake shrine
It was so cloudy... we could not see the snowy cap summit from here.
Must-dos at Mount Fuji
Eat black egg cooked in Owakudani valley
(We can also get it from souvenir shops in Mount Fuji or Hakone).
Legend holds eating just one of these black eggs can add seven years to one's life.

Send a postcard to yourself. It costs only 70 yen to send one back to Singapore.
Visit the souvenir shops. In Japan, you can find Hello Kitty everywhere, even on Mount Fuji!

Next, it was lunch at restaurant at Lake Ashi. View from restaurant, look at the clouds, it's been raining since morning.
Here's our lunch. We are so lucky to get to eat Hoto noodles here! Itadakimasu!
Next, Lake Ashi cruise: It took about 15 mins to get across lake Ashi to Hakone-en, where we boarded the Komagatake ropeway from there.
Here was where we boarded the boat.
Pictures taken from onboard... we prefer to take the pirate ship.
That's the tori gate of Hakone shrine.

Aren't the leaves beautiful? We could not resist to take a photo along this wall..
That's where we will take the ropeway.
That's our car.
Due to bad weather (its been raining for the whole day), we were warned beforehand that we will not get to see mount Fuji from the ropeway :( So we took a photo of the display pictures on the wall..haha..we could have seen this...
and this..
and the comforting words from our guide: "You can see Fuji in your mind.."
Instead, we got these:
dark clouds blocking mount Fuji
Nice greenery on the way up though
That's Hakone Shrine Mototsumiya (original shrine) that nestles at the mountaintop..
Photo of the history of the ropeway
@ souvenir shop... kitty, kitty is everywhere...
And who is this? Anyway, it's kind of cute..hence the pic.
Our last stop of the day will be Tonosawa Ichinoyu Honkan ryokan, where we will rest for the night.
The tour bus brought us to Hakoneyumoto train station where we caught the Spa association bus C (last bus for the day) to the hotel. It costs 100 yen from Hakoneyumoto to the ryokan and just 3 minutes travel time.
As it's my first try at a hot spring, I cannot imagine soaking naked in the public spring.. we are lucky to find this ryokan that has rooms attached to private bath.. And we booked a Twin room with bath.
Here's our room, Take (竹)

And the outdoor bath
Dressed up in Yukata, to prepare to go for dinner. Do we look Japanese enough?
Dinner's being served!

See what we found at the souvenir shop??
After dinner, we spent half hour in our private spring, and its oyasuminasai.
