22~28 Oct2014 Day 4 - Tsukiji; Ueno; Shinjuku

DAY 4 - TSUKIJI MARKET, GINZA, AMEYOKO-CHO & SHINJUKU

Ohayo gozaimasu!
It was 7am in the morning and we made our way to Tsukiji market. It is the most famous market in Tokyo. Although we did not visit the Auction area, but having sushi breakfast at the market is a must! And its also not boring to take a walk in the market, where many interesting stuffs are being sold.

Anyway, there are queues in almost every sushi shop. In the end, we found seats in Sumumaru (すむまる), so we decided to have breakfast there. Both me and Christina chose the Tsukiju sushi set at 2,700 yen. Comes with free miso soup. Yum!

Our number 2 stop for day 4 would be Ginza (銀座)!!
The first stop in Ginza was Muji Yurakucho. I heard it is the biggest store in town and so a must visit since we are in Ginza.

Lunch was at Akomeya, it seems like Tokyo is not short of restaurants like Akomeya.. This is a really interesting shop that sells products made from rice and they also serve rice dishes. Yum!

A visit is most pleasant on a Saturday afternoon when the central Chuo Dori is closed to traffic and become a large pedestrian street. The road closure takes place from 12pm ~ 5pm during weekends.

Arrival at Ameyokocho (Its meaning is either "Candy Alley" or "American Alley") in Ueno. We bought scallops, snacks here.

 It's Shinjuku time!
This place is so crowded with people and the train lines are so complicated here.
We transferred to Tocho-Mae station. It is the station closest to Tokyo Government Building, which is our first stop in Shinjuku.
View from the North Observatory, at level 45.

Tea time at the top of South Observatory.
The food looks good but taste is so so.

View from South Observatory. We were supposed to get a better view from here and be able to see Mount Fuji on less cloudy days..

We had a hard time searching for Takashimaya, but still managed to take photos along the way..

Around 7pm, we met up with Ishii san and Esaki san. As requested, Esaki san brought us to Kabuki cho, the red light district in Tokyo..hee hee.. And we are surprised that there is a decent izakaya in this area. And it is quite a popular dining place called Miyakonjyo (みやこんじよ).
Before arriving at the izakaya, we past by this interesting place and spotted a super long queue outside. Robot restaurant is the name we saw. Later we found out it is a restaurant with robot show..hmmm..つごい!

We are very thankful to Ishii san and Esaki san for the delicious treat!

Our second round, coffee time at L'occitane café. In the café, we realised there are not many guys in there. Guys seems not so interested in this themed café..the only guys are those who tag along with the girlfriends and our group.
