[Day 10] Autumn 1~12 Nov 2018 Mount Koya

8am Direct train from Namba (Nankai) by Ltd Exp to Gokurakabashi.
The journey will take about 1 hr and 23 mins, so we will arrive at 923am.
From Gokurakabashi, take the cable car up to Koyasan (5 mins).

We woke early so that we can buy the tickets in advance. Only reserved seats.

We bought breakfast from nearby 7-11 and ate while waiting for the train.
There are washrooms in the long journey train, so no need to worry.

The autumn scenery is beautiful and breathtaking even as we approach Gokurakabashi.

Bought the return train tickets before taking the cable car.

From the cablecar station, take a bus to Senjuinbashi bus stop, which is the center of Koyasan. We intend to get to Okunoin Cemetery 奥の院 by foot from the center.

Japanese seems to love Totoro a lot. We see it a lot.

Have some snacks then continue walking.
The weather was cold in the mountains even though it was bright and sunny.

We arrived at Ichinohashi Bridge (first bridge), the traditional entrance to Okunoin.

Bow to Kobo Daishi (founder of Shingon Buddhism) to pay respect.

As we enter the innermost grounds, photography is prohibited.
Torodo Hall (Hall of lamps) - photos were secretly taken.

Tombs for children who died.

We wanted to have lunch here, but eating places were fullhouse.

We took some time to look for a place for lunch.
Most of the lunch places were packed.
In the end, we queued at this place that is selling curry rice and udon.

The Garan and its beautiful grounds.

Jean wanted to be in the background to photobomb me

Cold...

Mount Koya left us good memories of a very beautiful place to come in autumn.

Bye bye, Koyasan

Dinner back at Dotonburi - Hanamaruken Ramen
