Good morning from Days Inn by Wyndham Saint John New Brunswick on Friday morning.
Breakfast was included
We were checking out and moving to Nova Scotia next.
However, we received news that Hurricane Fiona would be heading
to Nova Scotia on the same day, around evening.
With heavy hearts, we decided to still continue to move on, to complete our tour for the afternoon and then get back to the hotel for the rest of the evening.
We also made time to visit Walmart, to store up food and snacks for the evening
Bought the must-try jelly butter tarts
Arrived.
Decided we shall have a good meal, either seafood or beef, for lunch.
It wasn't easy to find one as most restaurants had closed for the day since the hurricane was coming.
Finally we found The Nook and Cranny...
Everyone ordered the same thing, Beef Medallion with mushrooms,
which is the most expensive on the menu😅😋, beer and cider
We can feel the storming heading our way as it was getting rainy and windy
But we tried our luck at one last stop before we rest for the day.
Seems like its closed, but we stopped the car by the road and walked in.
Beyond this is the Fundy Discovery Site, along Salmon River near Truro, Nova Scotia
The ducks were still swimming peacefully?
We could see the receded bed from the tidal bores
Topping gas to full tank as we might not have electricity and gas after the storm
Arrived at the hotel in Truro and staying indoors.
Rescue vehicles arriving
After 6pm, the rain was very heavy and the wind was very strong, as the storm was passing by.
Our hotel door shaked nosily as the winds knocked against it.
We had bathed and could do nothing but just stayed in bed with our phones fully charged.
By 7pm, I had fell asleep, but was woken by Mei around 11pm as she was frightened by
the howling and whistling sounds from the hurricane, knocking hard on our door every minute.
By 12pm, everything had blacked out and we fell asleep amidst the storm...
