22Apr~6May2023 Around Kyushu in 2 weeks - day 3
It's a Monday no blue 😉
It's also the day we collect the rental car and start our journey around Kyushu by car.
It's also a day where we would visit a train station closest to the sea (Omura Bay), bus stops shaped of fruits, eat at a oyster hut and many more.
Firstly, we start by having breakfast at the hotel
We had some time to shop at the hotel,
as we were given 500 yen voucher each due to their hot spring was under renovation.
Starting our journey soon.
We were gonna rent the car for 10 days.
All loaded and ready to go!
Really glad the Toyota Sienta was able to take all our luggage
- 2 large (29inch) and 3 medium (27inch),
and 5 of us!!
Goodbye Huis Ten Bosch
Ops, drive carefully.. 50km/hr only
Our first stop: one of the train stations in Japan that is closest to the sea
It's a small unmanned station
They used to have a cafe here, but it had closed down during the covid period,
and now a florist has taken over
The florist asked if we would like to mail a letter home. It's a tea bag within the pack.
The Omura line does not run very frequently
A train passed by and we all ran out quickly.
Posting our letters
The fruits bus stops along highway 207 of Isahaya 諫早 coming up next.
It started to drizzle as we were leaving.
Nevertheless, the light rain did not dampen our mood.
Blue cycling tracks on both sides of the road.
Cutely shaped trees along the way.
Kawaii signage leading the way to a childcare centre?
Soon we arrived at the first bus stop - すいか
いちご
メロン
Checking if the bus stop can really shield her from the wind
みかん, a yellow one
トマト
Everyone love the strawberry most, followed by melon and then tomato.
Orange looks so so.. Grapes only have a place along a path.
Soon, it was lunch time.
Arrived as planned by 1230pm at 牟田商店 Muta Shoten
Other then serving steamed rice, they also sell fresh seafood for grilling.
We ordered fresh oysters, prawns, fried oysters and steamed scallop and crab rice 😋
It was Tara 太良 next.
Just 14 mins drive from the lunch place, we arrived at the Ouo floating tori gates.
To our disappointment, it was low tide, but the advantage was we could go down to take photos.
We took many photos and enjoyed so much at the floating tori gates.
Moving to Saga next.
Yūtoku Inari Shrine was just 16 mins drive away.
Beautiful flowers in a park opposite the shrine, we can't help but park our car nearby to take photos.
Baby wisteria
We crossed a bridge to get to the shrine
Yūtoku Inari Shrine 祐徳稲荷神社, one of Japan's top three shrines dedicated to Inari.
It's main hall stands on tall wood no nails, associated with prosperity, rice & kitsune (fox).
Beautiful wisteria blooming
We didn't climb further up as some of the guys could not walk too much.
Here' how to pray at a shrine
Bought several charms from here
Look at the nail ya.. 🤭
Then we came to the shopping street
For some kaimono and ice cream
On the way again, just as it started to rain.
Stay Saga 佐賀
Comfort Hotel Saga
Managed to make an online reservation at Yakiniku Kakura,
焼肉 かくら佐賀駅北口店, just 2 mins walk from the hotel.
The shops were closed by 8pm near Saga train station, but lawson was open.
Here were our loots.
