We were in Miyazaki 宮崎
Visiting the nearby Aoshima shrine on Aoshima island in the morning, then travel along the coast to Nichinan日南 - Sun Messe & Udo shrine. We will end our day at Miyakonojo 都城.
We were not sure how crowded the tourist attractions as it was Showa day, start of the golden week .
Woke 515am and looked out from our hotel window.
It was raining, and most likely we won't catch the sunrise at 530am. 😔
The area is also famous for the devil's washboard
Back to hotel for quick breakfast and we were ready to go.
Shoes had given way on day 8 morning .. sorry that I had to leave you behind in Aoshima Grand.

Getting ready for Totoro!
富土のトトロ was closed due to holiday.
It's a good chance for us to take photos without anyone.
Ops .. google map brought us to a road that was totally blocked and unpassable.
Changed the search to allow toll and we found another way.
Sun Messe was not yet open when we arrived.
Opens at 930am

Arriving at Udo Shrine next
It's a stunning seaside shrine on the cliff overlooking the ocean, with a shrine in a cave

Haha.. look at her loots. Shopping at a shrine is possible
Initially could not find a lunch venue in the area.
We saw the shop while driving passed on the way to Udo shrine.
Nanko - on google map, it is only shown as hotel.
Appetisers and tea were served
We enjoyed the delicious food. Really glad we found this place.
We decided to explore the nearby breakwater.
Also visited the nearby lighthouse.

Passed by huge pharmacy, the guys asked for shopping again
